Group Pilates Classes

Group classes are taught by Gill Webster at Coneyhill Studio.
Please call 01786 834757 to book a place. They are not drop-in classes.

The classes are one hour in duration and for either Beginner/Intermediate Level or Intermediate/Advanced Level.

Group classes are not suitable for complete beginners. Complete beginners must attend some Private classes or an Introductory Group Class - these Introductory classes are held on occasion. click here to find out when the next one is.
Classes are attended once or twice weekly. This allows for progression and development.

Classes take a maximum of 7 people.
All classes require pre-booking. There are 'sign up' sheets that you will have access to when you attend the classes, if you are unable to access them contact Gill to book your place. When classes are full there are waiting lists, but spaces often become available at the last minute.

All you need for your classes is to wear some comfortable clothes which are easy to move in. No shoes are worn for the exercises. Socks can be worn but some exercises work better without them. All equipment is provided for you, including mats. The majority of exercises do not need equipment, but some exercises may involve the use of stretch bands, wrist or ankle weights, poles, tennis balls or soft balls.

Before joining a group class it is necessary to take a few private classes. This enables you to learn the basic principles of the exercises - breathing, core stability and alignment. This one to one session also allows your teacher to get to know your body for its shape and any current/previous injuries or pains and prescribe the exercises best for you as an individual. It also allows you to develop body awareness and understand how to control your muscle engagement.

Enrolment forms detailing your medical history and any injuries or problems must be completed before starting any classes. If you have a specific medical condition you will also require consent from your doctor.
